Transporting a Solar Power System to a Remote DNT Cabin – Without Helicopters
In September, we completed an assignment for a DNT cabin where the goal was to transport a complete solar power system, including heavy batteries, without using helicopter transport, snowmobiles, or ATVs. This is a perfect example of how our expertise and traditional methods can deliver results where conventional transport solutions fall short.
The Challenge
Heavy Loads to a Remote DNT Cabin
The assignment involved transporting three batteries weighing 74 kg each, along with solar panels, over a distance of 2.5 kilometers to a DNT cabin. The terrain consisted of both tractor roads and narrow trails.
Helicopter transport or motorized vehicles would seem like the only viable options.

Custom-built carrying solution: For the heavy batteries, we developed a custom carrying stretcher designed for safe and efficient transport of both batteries and solar panels. This allowed two people to carry the load together.
Heavy-duty pack frames: The stretcher was mounted onto our sturdy pack frames. These are designed to distribute weight optimally, making even long carrying stages manageable.
